Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to all our families for supporting us as we go back into COVID restrictions at school. We really appreciate your efforts to check in via the QR codes and wear a mask when visiting the office. Hopefully these restrictions will lift sooner rather than later and we will be able to have our families on-site once again to share in the learning at Sacred Heart. We are continuing to remind students about good hand hygiene and have a plentiful supply of sanitiser and hand soap. However, you are very welcome to send in a small bottle of sanitiser for your child for their personal use. A reminder that if your child has undergone a COVID test, we need a copy of the negative test result for our files.

Tomorrow is School Photo day. Please ensure all photo envelopes are returned to school tomorrow if you wish to order photos. All students must be dressed in full winter uniform, including their tie, and navy stockings for the girls for the school photos. Just a reminder that ALL students will have their photo taken for the school file even if you haven't ordered any.

Today, the PTF met for the July meeting to discuss a number of items, including the implementation of the new school Uniform Policy. Thank you for your feedback both at the PTF meetings and through the parent survey last term. The School Advisory Committee will now meet to discuss all the information provided to ratify the new Uniform Policy in a few week's time. Once ratified, the new policy will take affect immediately, however any changes to the school uniform will see a two-year transition period before full implementation. 

The Term 3 Parent/Teacher Interviews are being held next Monday 26 July. Due to COVID restrictions, these interviews must be conducted via phone rather than in person. They are not compulsory, however if you would like to schedule a phone conversation with your child's class teacher there will be an opportunity to do so via the Compass link sent to parents later this week. If the times or dates nominated do not suit you, do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher to arrange an alternative time. 

A special welcome to Charlotte (Year 6) and Isabella (Year 2) and the Walsh family who started at Sacred Heart last week. Welcome to Boggabri and to the Sacred Heart family!

Special mention to Miss Mooney who celebrates her birthday this Saturday 24th July and Rex who celebrates his 6th birthday on Sunday. Enjoy your special day !
