This Week's Updates
Dear Families,
We are all anticipating some positive news tomorrow in that all students can return on Wednesday to 51 Centre Rd!!
I am at home in Quarantine with my family and have been doing so since last Tuesday afternoon. Two of my daughters were at a Tier One site, the Genesis Gym in Box Hill, and we were all required to be tested on Tuesday afternoon. Fortunately we all received negative COVID-19 test results but are still required to quarantine until Wednesday.
With any luck I’ll be able to attend on Wednesday and if not Thursday.
While working from home, I’ve met with many staff and a some parents in various situations.
Yesterday was the feast day of St James and the day we set aside to celebrate 50 years of community and education here at St James. I’d like to say THANK YOU to everyone who has played a part in contributing to our wonderful St James community.
Accolades go to the committee, who met regularly to plan the celebrations. Special thanks go to past parents, Carmen and Keith Pearson who were so generous with their time, knowledge and enthusiasm. Paul Rogan has done an outstanding job of designing the labels for our wine collection Many thanks to you, Paul!
According to the New Testament, James, son of Zebedee was a fisherman in the Sea of Galilee in the time of Jesus Christ. He felt the calling of God to follow Jesus as his disciple and became one of the twelve apostles. His faith was true and he never doubted the Lord, having witnessed various miracles including Jesus’s appearance on the shores of Lake Tiberias, and His resurrection.

Don’t forget that we have organised commemorative bottles of wine for purchase by families to celebrate all things great about St James over the past fifty years.
Please find details and link below. Contact Carmel/Lisa for further information
Concert Production
We have decided to postpone this until term four.
We have penciled in the evenings of Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 October.
Let's wait and see what COVID restrictions permit for us.
Year Five/ Six Debating Program
Given the current climate, we have decided to celebrate our learning about persuasive language and the art of debating by filming our final debate in the program and these will be sent home to the students' families. This is a safer option than planning a Parent Night.
Farm Duty
We need some families to help look after the animals on weekends. If you can help with the Farm Roster, please email Vic: victoire.gibson@sjvermont.catholic.edu.au
