From the School Leadership Team,

From Mr. Chant,

Principal

Student reports for the first half of the year are now available. Please ensure you have read these documents and had a discussion about the comments with your child. A focus on the positive elements and an understanding of what improvements are being looked at in the next two terms is a great way to start this important conversation.

Parent Teacher conferences are being held on line next week. Teachers will send you a Zoom link and there are no interviews being held on site.

School holidays commence next Friday the 25th of June at 2.30pm. Please ensure that your children are collected at this earlier finishing time. Any child not collected by 2.45pm will be taken to TeamKids.

School recommences on Monday July 12th at 8.45am when we open the gates to commence term 3.

Until the end of next week we are maintaining the drop off and collection arrangements from our school gates. This system works and ensures better social distancing, smoother exiting of the playground and a better start to our school day. Your support has been the key reason why these arrangements continue to be so successful.

Families who collect students from the Sebastapol Street gates, we ask you not to park in our neighbours' driveways, stand on their lawn or use their front yard as a social gathering space. They are very patient, and this patience is starting to run out!!

QR code check in is now mandatory for all visitors to the site. This includes all parents who enter buildings when on the school site, including the office foyer for student drop off and pick up.

Masks must be worn inside the building.

Our Assistant principal recruitment process continues. The panel of staff and the principal have met to look at the applications and we have narrowed the field, so we can interview next week, to hopefully recruit our next AP. We will keep everyone informed as this important decision is made.

Please ensure all clothing items are clearly named so we can reduce the numbers of lost items gathering in the racks near the art room. A collective noun for a group of owls is a parliament... I wonder what the collective noun for lost property items is?

Children who arrive late or who are returning from appointments during the school day must be signed in by a parent. This ensures accuracy of our records and accounts for the absence of the student in our records.

From Mme. Pommier,

French Director.

*****

Dear Parents and Carers,

The end of the Term is approaching. The ease of restrictions will enable our students to spend relaxing holidays amongst their friends and their family.

Farewell

The end of the term also coincides with the departure of Maya O’Farrell, French classroom assistant in the Prep Binome. We wish her all the best for her future studies, and we thank her for her creativity and her kindness to the students.

Jake Hederics, class assistant in 3/4, has also decided to return to his studies and will be leaving us at the end of the month. Thank you, Jake, for your professionalism and your flexibility. The students will miss you.

Finally, our Curriculum Leader, Anne Hostein, will say goodbye at the end of the month. Her enthusiasm and continued support will be missed. We congratulate her for her contribution to the curriculum development and her outstanding vision and contribution to the library. We wish her the best of luck in her next role.

Bastille Day

Bastille Day festivities are approaching with many historical and artistic activities.

The holidays will be the perfect opportunity to prepare your Bastille Day costume. Some costume ideas are; Marie Antoinette's wig, patriotic colors or a French footballer uniform. The EFM will be joining us and will offer a great range of activities. More information to follow very soon.
