Science Week
Science Week (17th-21st August) was conducted a little differently this year, but it was great to see so many students getting involved.
Over the week, students participated in the following activities:
Australian Science Week Theme: Deep Blue: Innovations for the future of our oceans
- Education Perfect Science World Championships
- The Australian Science Olympiads: (Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Environmental Science)
- Virtual Escape Rooms – using Stiles Education
- An online performance presented by Perform Education, “The Marine Team
This year 3649 schools, worldwide, participated in the Education Perfect Science World Championships. The results are as follows:
Marian College ranked:
- 14th overall globally
- 2nd overall in Victoria
- 11th overall in Australia
Congratulations to the following students who performed exceptionally well this year!
- Aishwarya Lakshmi: 10th globally (received an Elite award)- answered over 30, 000 questions
- Krishna Aguinaldo: 112th globally (received an Elite award)-answered over 10, 000 questions
- Manreet Bhangu: 135th globally (received an Emerald award)- answered over 9,000 questions
