Wellbeing

It has been so heart-warming to see many of our students back on site this week.  My thoughts are with those students who have been unable to come back for face to face learning. A challenge to all is to reach out and connect with those students to ensure they still feel connected to our school community.

This week is World Mental Health Week; it runs from 10-17th October. Now, more than ever, it is so important to ask those around you how they are, and to help steer them in the direction of support if they are feeling overwhelmed with worries and concerns. My message for students and families this week is that although many of us are feeling frustrated, and focusing on what we can’t do, I want you to think of what you can do.  I urge students to find one thing that they can do this week. You can say hello to a stranger, you can make others laugh and smile or you can help a friend in need.

I found the graphic below last week and it made me think that this year is not over yet. We need to keep going and continue to be our best selves. As always, I am available to see students from both the Junior and Senior Campuses face to face at school and online through Teams. I can similarly be contacted via email and phone. My priority is supporting students and if necessary, referring students to external support services.

Did you know?

Whilst we are going through complex times, having a chat with someone can make life a whole lot better. Did you know that Miss Hodge, Miss Reiher, Miss Waldron, Mrs Winter- Cooke, Mr Monk, Miss Andrews, Mr Hawthorne as well as Mrs Couchman are all available and happy to catch up with you for a chat? All you need to do is send them an email or TEAMS message and connect.

Summer Uniform

Dear Parents,

We have been working hard this week to ensure our uniform is being worn correctly. We are so fortunate at this College as most students wear their uniform with pride. Sadly, however, it only takes a handful of students to do the wrong thing that then reflects poorly on everyone. I have asked a number of girls this week to attend to the length of their school dress and to remove jewellery.  Could I ask all families to support the College in maintaining the high uniform standards we have come to expect from all students. Girls will be reminded of the following:

  • The summer dress but sit no higher than mid-knee with the school jumper on. Socks must sit at mid-calf.
  • One pair of plain studs or sleepers only in the ear lobe.
  • Make up, other than colourless moisturiser or colourless sunscreen, or nail polish is not to be worn to school.
  • No jewellery is permitted.
  • Hair that is below shoulder length must be tied back.
  • School ribbons must be navy, white, maroon or gold.
  • Hats must be worn in Term One and Term Four.

These are the options for the boys’ summer uniform. Socks must sit at mid-calf.

Summer Uniform Change Over

Students may begin Term Four in either their summer or winter uniform. By Monday 19th October all students must be wearing the summer uniform. Hats are compulsory in Term 4.
