Basketball News

Hopefully some of you have already seen or heard this information and know what is happening with the HBA for the remainder of 2020 and 2021 and have started to be able to consider your involvement – if not please read carefully what is outlined below.

Basically, the HBA is hoping that a new season of juniors only will start during November and continue up until the last week of Term 1, 2021(with a break over school holidays).

So the seasons will now be SUMMER (Terms 1 and 4) and WINTER (Terms 2 and 3). So this means there is a change of age groups for some players and an 18 AND UNDER division has been added to give those players a chance to play some basketball as there will be no seniors at this stage. These developments we see as being most positive for the “College” sporting programme and will link in well with our other sports on offer in a summer and winter format and associated logistical considerations such as training and competition times. Age groups and the years of birth for each division will be as follows:

UNDER 10(2012/2013), UNDER 12(2010/2011), UNDER 14(2008/2009), UNDER 16(2006/2007) AND “18 AND UNDER”(2003/2004/2005)

If you are a senior school student and WILL be playing or potentially want to coach a team also please fill in and return the attached ‘Expression of Interest form’ ASAP and by THIS Friday 16th October at the latest. Miss Brabham has contacted the Junior School students about playing so those forms should be returned to her by then also.

If you have any questions, please email myself or Miss Brabham if at the Junior School.

Horsemanship

It has been such a lovely start to the term welcoming our students and their horses back to our Equestrian Centre. Although we are not yet able to begin our Horsemanship program many of our boarding students have brought their horses with them to enjoy our facilities and their friends for Term 4.

Thank you to all the parents and Linda Archer for their efforts in transporting horses to our Equestrian Centre. We look forward to a term filled with activity and enjoyment!
