Prep - 2 Virtual Disco

They put on their fancy clothes! They polished their dancing shoes! They brushed their hair and they all danced virtually!

On Friday afternoon, many Prep - Two children attended a virtual disco run by Friend in Me & Kids Disco Parties.

It was a great way to brighten up iso and celebrate another remote week of learning achievements! Thanks Mr Gibbons!

"I can't do this because I'm dumb!"

This is one of the most difficult statements for parents and carers to hear their child say. Statements connected to low self-esteem can be damaging and if left unattended, can take a huge toll on a child's self-worth.

Knowing how to respond to your child when they say negative things about themself is important. You can help shift the focus from negativity to their abilities and potential.

If you find your child putting themself down using negative self-talk, use these strategies to help!

RUOK Day

More than ever, 2020's "RUOK? Day" challenges us to stay connected and check in on our family and friends.  It's just as important for our children to know that it's ok to NOT be OK ! Having trusted people to speak to, friends that will listen and hope that tomorrow will be an easier day is a lesson never too early to learn. For more information
