Nossal Lockdown Olympics
Thank you to everyone who participated in the inaugural Nossal Olympic Games. The event has kept us all engaged and active during the past two weeks.
Special thanks to the founder and facilitator of the competition, Ms Coffa for all her work to make the event such a success. For more details about the competition, please refer to the Health and Sport page of this newsletter.
Seeking Help
We have a small number of vacancies for supervisors of the General Achievement Test (GAT) on Wednesday 7 October. If you would like to know more about the opportunity or to register your interest, please email Christine.Weller@nossalhs.vic.edu.au

Who are these Nossal Faces #2?
Following the "Masked Staff Faces" competition in the last newsletter, in this edition, we would like to issue another similar challenge to our students and their families.
The following attachment has 29 faces of staff members from our school. The challenge is to be able to identify as many as possible before 3:00pm on Monday 7 September. Send your list of names/answers to Mr Butler either by Teams chat or email.
Good luck!
PFA Cafe is open for business
Last Wednesday evening, the PFA opened its virtual cafe and the launch was attended by approximately 15 guests.
The cafe is a purely social place where members or friends of the Nossal community can come and gather and share some light hearted chat and share experiences over a cuppa. On the first night those in attendance talked about the impact COVID was having on them and their extended families and it was interesting to compare the different scenarios shared especially when mention was made of elderly family members or others who were overseas. The group clearly enjoyed the discussion as evidenced in their comments after "closing time".
- "I had a really good time at the Nossal PFA Cafe. I looking forward to the next time it is open."
- "It was really nice hearing stories about everyone's families."
- "The cafe is a wonderful idea"
- "The cafe creates a sense of belonging and makes everyone feel connected despite not meeting in person. A lovely experience."
- "I enjoyed the conversation. Looking forward to seeing you all next time."
It is planned to open the Nossal Cafe once a month during school terms. It opens on Zoom at 7:30pm and closes at 9:00pm. The next open evening will be on Wednesday 16 September and everyone is welcome. To obtain your Zoom invitation, please send your email address to Keith.Butler@nossalhs.vic.edu.au The theme for the next night will be a favourite holiday you have been on or favourite holiday destination. Attendees are encouraged to have a few photos to share.
Please note, the PFA Cafe is a little unusual as a cafe in that those attending need to provide their coffee and cake.
We look forward to you joining us on Wednesday 16 September.
