'Silly Art' Bingo!

Mrs Fisher's 8G and 8I art students had fun thinking outside the square recently, with a task called 'Silly Art Bingo'!

Students were given a range of creative ideas for things to draw, ranging from a teacher as a zombie, something other than a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, themselves as a superpower, a person with fruit for hair, or a cat playing tennis!

Students were encouraged to use a medium they had not used before, such as coloured pencils, crayons, pastels, felt pens, water colours or acrylic paints.

You can see some of the fantastic creations in the above image gallery.

Well done students!

Mr Tomada's Year 10 Visual Communication Design students recently created 3D facades and walk-throughs of Melbourne attractions using 'TinkerCAD'.

TinkerCAD is a 3D modelling program that includes basic shapes to merge, reshape and colour! Students were required to focus on different elements and principles of design.

Zentangles: Mindful Expressions

Mrs Fisher's 8G art students have been learning all about zentagles!

Zentangle is an American method of drawing that not only promotes concentration and creativity, but also increases a sense of wellbeing.

Zentangles are designs that are created only using a pencil, black pen, fineliner or sharpie. You don't even need a ruler! Things to consider include different line weights.

There are many zentangle patterns to be found online for inspiration.

Please click through the above image gallery to see some of the students' beautiful designs.

Logo Design: Visual Communication Design

In Visual Communication Design this term, year 9 students learnt how to use the design process to create a logo using their initials, shape, type and complementary colours.

Students had to consider a design brief, undertake research, and then brainstorm and create a hand-drawn monogram that was simple, yet unique and eye-catching.

Well done to students for managing this project remotely, and applying their new understandings of the design elements and process.

Please see some of the fantastic student work in the above image gallery.
