College Captains' Message

School in Lockdown 2.0
We caught up with our College Captains to hear about their experience of school life during lockdown2.0 and see how they've been staying positive.
Lockdown 2.0 has been challenging for sure, especially with SACs coming up and the quick changes. Finding a way to remain positive has been difficult.
What has been helpful however has been communication with friends. Although we can’t see them in person, being able to talk to them through FaceTime and play games has definitely helped us stay motivated.
Of course, we find solace in the benefits of online learning, such as sleep-ins, hot food and the odd pyjama day. As well as the thrill of attempting to make a three-course meal between classes!
These are small comforts which definitely make life a lot easier. We cannot tell you how much more pleasant year 12 Methods is when you’re under a blanket or sipping a cup of tea!
The moments of sun have also kept our spirits up. We can’t say that we’ve been getting tanned, but at least we’ve been able to get out and about for walks in our local areas. If you haven’t already, we definitely encourage you to enjoy the outdoors, whether that be in your own backyard or at a local park.
In addition, we’ve come to appreciate the snippets of fun, humour and support which pop-up in one class or another.
Our teachers have been so forward in asking for feedback and checking-in with us. Furthermore, Microsoft Team calls and the jokes which get thrown around in the meeting chat have been so uplifting on any given day.
We hope you’re all staying well and finding reasons to smile.
