BOOK WEEK IS COMING! 24TH TO 30TH OF AUGUST

Not even a pandemic can stop THS library from celebrating book week in style!  This year the book week costume parade will be virtual and will involve the online presentation of a video compilation of students/staff dressed in their costumes at home. The virtual book week parade video will be premiered on the THS YouTube channel on Friday 28th of August at lunchtime at 1.20pm so make sure you are tuned in to watch.

Students need to submit their videos by Tuesday the 25th of August by joining the library google classroom.

Details are on the library

Students need to make a one minute video of themselves dressed in their costume, ideally walking the runway! Alternatively students can submit a photo striking a pose. The parade will coincide with “Wear it Purple” day so costumes that support the theme of “wear it purple”, for example that include the colour purple, will get extra bonus points. Student/staff video submissions will be edited together into one compilation to create a virtual parade which will premiere on the THS Youtube channel. For some inspiration, see the video of last year’s parade

Students will go in the running for some fantastic book prizes. 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners for best costume will receive a $30 Readings book voucher (gift ecard).

Runners up will receive a book pack prize including a mystery selection of great young adult books. Prize categories include:

* Best homemade costume

* Most original costume

* Best in-character performance

* Best use of the theme of purple for the "wear it purple" day

* Librarians' choice award

House points will be awarded to all students who participate.
