Winner of the $50 voucher for our Library Reading and Borrowing Challenge

A big thank you to all students who participated in the Challenge!  For 12 weeks we have been running our own Library Reading and Borrowing Challenge.  It has been a great success.  It has brought students down to the library to sample our collections and have fun reading and borrowing books.  Completed entries have gone in the draw for the $50 voucher prize. Today, Mr. Rindo has kindly agreed to draw out the winning entry.

Congratulations to  Clementine Monet, the winner of the Reboot, Reconnect and Say ‘goodbye my lockdown,” Reading and Borrowing Challenge. Well done and congratulations from the library staff.

National Science Week 15-23 August 2020

The National Science Week 2020 theme is Deep Blue: innovations for the future of our oceans. To celebrate we had special lunchtime screenings of “Blue - the film". It is “a cinematic song for our oceans; beautiful…and hopeful.” https://bluethefilm.org/.

If your student missed it, they can catch up via the McCarthy Learning Homepage, Student, ClickView, or via the shared link https://clickv.ie/w/F3mo .

DIY Science:  DIYs for making your own sherbet fizz, pop rockets, jelly lenses, honeycomb and investigate iron cereal have been designed for 2020 science week students.  If you make something great, bring it in, or send us in a photo that we could display. https://www.scienceweek.net.au/diy-science/

Blackout Poetry Display in the Library

We are making a library display of blackout poetry. Our students are doing a great job and having fun with their poems. Here are some sample so far.

Read the book before seeing the film!

We are encouraging students to come in to the library, check out our books-to-film list. We are asking them if they can add to our list of books that have been made into films.
