Library Leaders

We are the Library Leaders. As Library Leaders, we are always committed to making the Library a special place to study, relax and learn. We continually take care of each other, the books and other library resources and will be successful in making our fellow students at Mount Carmel College happy with each and every book. We have made adjustments to the way we operate in O’Brien Resource Centre due to COVID-19.

What it means to be a Library Leader

Being a Library Leader means to be someone who is willing to donate their lunchtimes or free time for the good of the library, to listen and undertake instructions and to complete each job with care and confidence.

What do we do in the O'Brien Resource Centre?

Being a Library Leader at Mount Carmel College is an enjoyable job. If you are a part of the O’Brien Resource Centre community these are the jobs we do whether they have been set or not are by Mr Young or Mrs Hill.

  • Straightening books
  • Scanning in or out books
  • Placing barcodes and Stickers on new books
  • Cleaning of books (due to COVID-19)
  • Behind the desk jobs
  • Changing seating arrangements in Primary area
  • Checking if no food or drinks are in Library
  • Run the Information Desk to assist students and staff

To become a Library Leader there will be trials in place for all Primary or Secondary students if they wish to apply for a position as a Library Leader. If you succeed in the trials students will be supplied with a job and a badge. If you are in Year 5 and wish to be a Library Leader in 2021 speak to Mr Young  to get your name added to the list for training.
