School Council

School Council 2019

The Pakenham Springs School Council consists of the School Principal,  9 elected parents, 4 elected employees of the Education Department and up to 2 co-opted members.

According to regulations and the current status of councillors for 2018/2019 we now need to elect 4 parent representatives (2 years) and 2 Education Department employee representatives (2 years and 1 year).  Nominations are now called for in relation to these positions.

The guidelines for nominations are as follows:

· Persons nominated must be either parents/guardians of a student (s) at the school or employees of the Education Department.

· Persons making and seconding nominations must be either parents/guardians of students at the school or employees of the Education Department.

· Nomination forms are available at the school office (will be sent home upon request).

· The nomination and election process, if required, will follow the timeline as set out below.

· Where the number of nominations equals, or is less than, the number of vacancies in each specific category then no election will be necessary.

If further information is required regarding this process, responsibilities and expectations of councillors or any other aspect of School Council functioning please contact myself, or Sue Northover at the school.

If you are interested in specific information regarding the work of School Council and School Councillors please ask for guidelines from the Office.
