Mr Robertson - Rottnest Channel Swim for Tye -22 February 2020

A shout out to Mr Robertson who will be taking on a maiden solo Rottnest swim this weekend to raise funds for his best mate, Tye Angland who was in a tragic fall at Sha Tin racecourse in Hong Kong.

This is a 19.7km ocean swim from Cottesloe Beach to Rottnest Island in Western Australia.

"I am raising money for my best friend Tye Angland, who’s career was abruptly ended after a riding accident that left him a quadriplegic in November 2018. All funds raised will contribute to Tye’s lifelong, ongoing care and rehabilitation as well as supporting his young family," Mr Robertson said.

"I have been inspired by the strength, determination and resilience that Tye has demonstrated since the accident. I am using this inspiration to complete this swim."

If you have the opportunity to show your support to Mr Robertson, we know it would mean the world to him. Donations can be made at the link below.

Message from Busabout

The NSW Government’s policy for free school bus travel is only available from home to school and back home. Journeys outside these arrangements require the applicable fare to be paid (at the time of boarding) or the student can apply for a pre-paid term pass.

Recently, the requirements to purchase a term pass were amended if the following criteria is met;

  1. The journey taken is part of the normal fixed journey on board the students designated bus.
  2. A letter from the parent/guardian, requesting a premature departure (at the specific location) from the service, is provided.

Students wishing to access Oasis, or the Wagga CBD area are asked to catch Bus S191. This service follows Tarcutta Street and stops at South Wagga Public School. This is safe location for students to cross the road at traffic lights.

Only the students on Busabout records living in the Tarcutta/ Day Street area should continue to catch Bus S102.

If further information is required, please do not hesitate to contact Busabout, or visit their website.

Email Blacklist

What is an Email Blacklist?

An email Blacklist is a real-time database that uses criteria to determine if an IP is sending email it considers to be SPAM. There are several blacklist. Each list has a unique way of accepting inbound mail and determining if email is considered SPAM. They can all impact deliverability for your emails.

Here’s an image from Spamhaus (a top blacklist site). It provides a visualization of how the spam-labeling process works.

How to check if you’re on an email blacklist?

You can check if your email is blacklisted at https://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx.

How did I Get on an email blacklist?

There are any ways you can end up on an email blacklist.

1. You are sending out monthly email newsletters to a large number of recipients (500 or more per month) from an unmanaged mailing list. By unmanaged, we mean you are not honouring the unsubscribe requests from users who want to opt out of your newsletter.

2. You have an easy-to-guess email password and your account has been hacked by spammers.

3. Someone is spoofing your email address. Are you are getting bounce messages for emails you didn’t send? Someone could be using your email address as the “from” address when mass mailing spam.

Just remember, all it takes is just a handful of “report as spam” clicks and your email address will end up on a blacklist.

How to remove my domain name from a blacklist?

Most blacklist databases will also provide listing reasons, so you should be able to find out why you were blacklisted.

Check Spamhaus blacklist remove website (a top blacklist site). https://www.spamhaus.org/lookup/ .

In addition, you can do the following:

  • Scan your computers and devices for viruses
  • Make sure you have all the updates and patches for your operating system
  • You may also want to change or enforce stronger passwords for your email accounts
  • If you maintain a mailing list, make sure you have dealt with all “unsubscribe” and “opt-out” requests promptly
  • If you send out monthly newsletters, make sure you include the “unsubscribe” option on your newsletters for users who want to opt out
