Yarra Council: Page Street Parking

Page Street Parking Changes

There have been several safety concerns raised by residents and parents of children attending Clifton Hill Primary School. Due to a dead end closure on Page Street, parents are forced to complete uncomfortable and dangerous manouvers in order to leave the street which becomes a safety issue during school drop-off and pick-up times.

What are we doing?

We will be increasing the No Stopping area at the end of the street by moving the exising Disabled Parking by one bay to the East. This will allow additional space to complete a safe and comfortable turn around at the end of the street.

  • Improved turn around space for vehicles.
  • Improved safety conditions for residents, parents and children accessing the school.
  • “No Stopping” sign will be moved accordingly to provide additional space.

We will also be installing a mountable kerb on the school side of Gold Street to increase driver awareness of the bicycle lane which runs down Gold Street. This will improve cyclist safety and slow down vehicles at the entrance and exit of the pick-up/drop-off area.

Where are the works happening?

At the end of Page Street (at entrance to Clifton Hill Primary School).

On Gold Street (Pick up/Drop-off area next to Clifton Hill Primary School).

See attachment for map of effected area.

When will the work start?

The works are scheduled to commence during the July school holiday period and are expected to be completed within one day.

Working hours are 7:00am to 5:00pm.
