Composting Trial

Both the bin sorts conducted by the CHPS Sustainability Team and the Year 2 Cohort as part of their War on Waste Inquiry unit revealed there was an opportunity to redirect organic waste from landfill to compost.

Recently there has been a delivery of a large compost bin and several smaller buckets for classrooms, actioned by the CHPS Sustainability Team. This communal bin has been housed in the courtyard outside the staffroom. The team is discussing the best way to introduce the composting program, considering issues such as student access to the communal bin and keeping the classroom buckets clean.

Tupperware Donation

A huge thank you is extended to Meredith Wells who kindly donated boxes of Tupperware to the Sustainability team.  This has been distributed to the canteen and families to aid in our rubbish-free quest!
