Mazza Boys Hustle in the Holidays

On Wednesday, 2nd October 2019, the Mazza boys took a break from their holidays to compete in the KDBA Hawaiian’s Forrestfield 3 x 3 Hustle.

The one-day event was free to enter and saw boys and girls teams competing in the under 13s and 16s. While spectators cheered on, the music set the atmosphere and the teams quickly adapted their game to the fast-paced 3 x 3 rules.

The MJBC players were competitive on the half court and played some great 10-minute games, showing off their defensive skills and making some impressive shots beyond the arc. Despite their efforts, it wasn’t enough to see them through to the playoffs, where The Hill Top Hoods were named the grand final winners.

Well done to the MJBC teams:

Thunder – Jack French, Mason Houlahan & Kiarn Linaker

The Meme Team – Liam Pabst, Sam Rovis-Taylor & Josh Arena

The Goated Goats – Riley Pabst, Seth Clarenc & Jaidyn Raschella

Committee Meeting

Tuesday, 29 November 2019

Venue: TBA

If you would like to attend, or you have any items you wish to table at the meeting, please email the Treasurer

Have you played enough games?

To be eligible to play in the Finals, a player must have played in at least one third (1/3) of their team’s qualifying games (including byes and forfeits) e.g. played a minimum of 5 games of the 15 rounds. To check, find your team in the KDBA fixtures and click on “Season Stats”.

For a team to be eligible to play in the Finals, they must be able to commit to playing in all three (3) Finals games. Please notify if your team cannot commit to all three games.

Communications Manager Vacancy

The role of Communications Manager for the MJBC will become vacant at the end of this year and we are looking to fill the role. The role generally involves putting together the basketball news item for the College newsletter each week during term only, updating the MJBC basketball calendar and updating the MJBC Facebook page from time to time.  There will be a handover period and with plenty of helpful notes. If you’re a new or existing parent who would like to get involved in their son/s sport and the wonderful Mazenod community, we’d love to hear from you.  For more information, please email the Communications Manager at
