Summer Hockey

Year 7 Hockey

On Tuesday 22 the Year 7 hockey team competed in the inaugural ACC Perth Thunderstick Shield. The team arrived at Perth Hockey Stadium just as the Hockeyroos had finished their morning training session, which provided much excitement and a boost of energy for the beginning of the competition.

The team played great hockey moving the ball quickly from defense into attack, and created many goal scoring opportunities. After going through the round robin undefeated, the boys played in the grand final. In a high scoring game where the lead changed several times, Mazenod unfortunately went down 7-6 to a strong Bunbury Catholic College team in the dying minutes. It was a great performance by all but special mentions to Jack Hall, James van Eck and Judd Ingleton on their great play. Thanks to Miss Gmeiner and Mr Pavlinovich for coaching and to Mr Gardner for driving the bus to training.
