Well – the season is pretty much over – finished for four of our teams, and semi-finals this weekend for both our 9/10 teams. Congratulations everyone on all your effort throughout the season.
Finals information is below.
Windup and AGM
We are looking forward to the Club Windup and AGM, always a great afternoon. Come along at 2pm to watch and cheer for the President’s X1 vs the outgoing year 12s in their final game for Mazenod!! This is followed by a brief AGM, presentations to all the boys, and then dinner.
Soft drink, a roast beef and gravy roll will be provided for all. They are absolutely delicious and we would like to thank Cath and Reto, Blake’s parents for six years of cooking and serving our wonderful meal at the windups. We are so grateful and always look forward to your catering! We’d love all our families to support their butcher shop in Guildford, the Swiss Butcher Shop (67-69 Old Perth Rd, Guildford) – or call for any orders: 0427 978 750.
This event is always a fun afternoon – see the flyer above for times/details. No RSVPs needed, we just want everyone to turn up and have fun! Roast beef rolls and a soft drink provided for everyone, bring your own nibbles and other drinks if you wish.
AGM – New Committee Members Welcome…
Please consider if you wish to join the committee – we would welcome some new committee members, to share the jobs around, so have a think about what you might be able to do and put your hand up at the AGM!
It really is rewarding to be part of the club - remember that research says being involved in school-related activities that your children participate in increases their engagement and happiness – do it for the kids! We are more than happy to have more than one person share any of the roles to lighten the load for others – boarder parents – you can be involved too – for example there is a brief job each week to get the online results and collate for the newsletter – if you have a few minutes each week you could collate this and send it through. It’s so much easier when more people share the workload to help our sons have a great hockey experience!
Information is slowly coming through about this – please let Emma know if your son is interested in indoor hockey over summer and any relevant information will be forwarded. There are competitions in Mundaring and Lumen Christi. We will only know if we can field teams when we know what sort of interest there is!
Thank you again to all players and parents who assist us throughout the year, and to parents for taxiing their sons to and from training and games. A special thank you to those who are not parents or current teachers at the school, but have given generously of their time throughout the season – especially Tom Pavlinovich (coach of J11/12 B team) and Tim Wallis (coach of J9/10B team) – we could not have a hockey season without your support. Parents have commented about both of you and your commitment and generosity and coaching skills – thank you! We say goodbye to Erin Littlefair, who has been manager for six years, thank you Erin for all the time and energy you have put into the boys hockey opportunities! We are very grateful.
