Year 7-9 Sector

Year 7 News

With the end of term around the corner, students have been working extremely hard on their ILTs and preparing for upcoming tests. We’ve had a very busy term thus far, with much more to come!

On Friday the 25th of October, students in secondary Life Skills put on a celebratory lunch for a number of staff. The lunch included a 3 course meal with a range of drink choices.

Students have put in an extensive amount of effort over the course of the term in preparation for the big lunch. Students worked on a menu together, went on excursion to the supermarket and made a range of delicious meals.

Congratulations to the following students on their hard work; Joshua, Jacob, Kiara, Lucas and  Stephen.

The first inaugural Colour Fun Run took place on Wednesday 30 October. Students and staff had a great time running around the football oval whilst being sprayed by water and coloured powder! Thank you to Year 9 event elective students for helping throughout the day, in addition staff for their efforts with the organising and running of the day.

Congratulations to all students on efforts to produce science experiments to display at the Science Expo on Tuesday 12 November.

Coming up in Week 9 are the Semester 2 exams. Students will complete an English exam and a Mathematics exam based on the curriculum covered during Terms 3 and 4. This is always a busy time for students as completing their curriculum requirements and studying. Please encourage students to attend Study Club each Wednesday afterschool from 3:15pm-4:00pm to receive extra support from teachers.

On Thursday 12th of December Brookside College will be holding our annual Summer Fest. The event celebrates with music, food and interactive games for our community.

In celebration for students’ hard work throughout the year, an excursion to Adventure Park has been organised for the 18th of December. Payment and consent can be organised via Compass or the front office.

Keep up the great work Year 7s!
