Leadership @ Monty

What's Been Happening?

Tomorrow - Saturday 16/11 - Asbestos removal of the Castle eaves is taking place at school from 1pm (qualified contractors will be preparing the site earlier). Please do not visit our school site!  All necessary controls and compliance measures will be implemented - please refer to the Compass feed on 11/11/2019 for further details .

We have had the joy of welcoming our 2020 Foundation students to our school for their second transition.  The highlight of my day today was when two current Foundie children saw our new, incoming Foundies and commented about them "being so cute." Clearly our current (and very mature) Foundation children are ready for the move to Grade 1!

We are still negotiating with the DET around the delivery of a Relocatable building to complete the "U-shape" down near the 5/6 area. Some great news is the confirmation of a new toilet block down in that area. I think our senior teachers are particularly thrilled with this news!

The Art space is even more abuzz than usual as Mrs Gardner prepares for the Annual Art Show.  We are so grateful to Mrs Gardner for the sense of creativity that she brings out in our students.  Congratulations to the following students for being awarded a place at the Monty Secondary Art Show. The pictures below are amazing, yet they still do not give justice to the original creations!

Final Working Bee!

We are holding our final Working Bee for the year next Saturday 23rd from 8:00am - 12:00pm. We would LOVE as many people as possible to complete a final clean up of the yard, as well as to assist with a clean out of under the school (I do wonder what hidden gems we may find....). Please come and lend a hand - assistance on these days makes such a difference!

Hats

A reminder that children must be wearing hats during play times. Please ensure that your child applies sunscreen before they arrive at school. Children are encouraged to reapply using their own sunscreen at break times.  If you haven't already done so, please teach your child how to apply their own sunscreen - we find that children have the most success at applying using a roll-on sunscreen.    Remember: No Hat, No Play.

Payments

Term 4 Planners - payment reminder. Please finalise payments at the Office to ensure your child is able to participate in the programs on offer.
