Kuitpo Forest Bush Kindy Day

The  ELC children, parents and staff enjoyed their Bush Kindy Day on Friday 31 May 2019 at Kuitpo Forest. Our Bush Kindy day was filled with excitement as the children demonstrated what a great time they could have learning from and being in a natural environment.

The children and adults enjoyed exploring, touching, smelling and feeling elements in nature. There were walks, areas to run, places to hide, puddles to jump in, fallen logs to climb, a long-drop toilet, pine forest as well as gum trees. The area was rich with natural wonders like pine cones, lots of different plants growing through the forest, tunnels of trees, stumps to climb and cubbies to explore.

Bush Kindy brings with it a range of experiences not possible within the confines of the regular early childhood setting and day. We look forward to returning later in the year.

Pruning or Removing trees?

The ELC is looking for natural wood/ branches/ logs for adding to our nature play area.

Fallen gum branches are ideal for climbing and building with. Please let us know if you have anything suitable.

Able to Volunteer?

If you have some spare time in your week and you'd love the opportunity to work with our children in the Early Learning Centre, volunteering your time to assist the teaching staff would be most welcome.  The program is full and the learning is engaging but the clean up can be very time consuming so any help in this area is very much appreciated. Please see Robbie or Bev if you can help.

OSHC Bookings

Our OSHC program for students in Reception to Year 2 is regularly booked out on several afternoons.

If your child needs care on a regular basis, a permanent booking may be more suitable to secure you a place. All bookings not required must be cancelled 24 hours in advance or will be charged.

We don’t want to disappoint so please consider placing a permanent booking by emailing Strathalbyn.elc@tyndale.sa.edu.au.

Same day bookings are only available if we have sufficient staffing. Please ensure you inform ELC staff on 8536 5421 or 8536 5422 of any absences.

Afternoon OSHC-  A roll of students booked in will be sent to the School office. A Junior School teacher will collect Rec - Yr 2 students to be transported by the School bus and will come with the students to sign them in at the ELC.
