Up Coming Events

With much of the School's extra curricular programs on hold, I have just included a few dates over the next few weeks to remember below.

* Library open for reading each lunchtime, except Wednesday

* Thurs 14 May             Whole School Lock in Drill

* Mon 1 June                 Whole School Evacuation Drill

Mother's Day

It wont be the same this year without holding our annual Mother's Day breakfast and Gift Stall. We hope that our mums and grand-mums will be celebrated in a big way on Sunday.

In the absence of having our Gift Stall, a gift was prepared and made available to each Primary child on the collection of their Term 2 Learning at Home packs.

If you didn't collect yours then, I trust it has made it safely home for you this week to enjoy on Sunday.

Winter Uniform

Our thanks to Sue & Tanya who have worked long hours over the last 2 weeks  to be sure all our students are in Winter Uniform.

Please note that Formal Winter Uniform is now required as of Monday, Week 3 with PE uniform to be worn on the allocated day of the week.

If there is still an item of uniform that you are waiting for on back order, we ask that you please put a note in your child's diary. We trust it wont be for very much longer.

Dentist Visit - Rescheduled

Our Dental team visits to the School were postponed but we can now advise that they have been rescheduled for Week 7 and Week 8 of this term.

Over the Christmas Holiday break, students who were seen last year were mailed 'Recall Forms' to complete regarding consent for 2020 visits. If you returned one of these earlier this year, there is nothing further for you to do. All other students have a Dental Consent pack coming home today. Please complete these and return in enevlope provided by Friday 29 May 2020.

Both the Federal Government and the South Australian Government have passed legislation to enable Level 2 dental procedures, effective from Monday 27 April 2020 and these have been endorsed by the Australian Dental Association.

Level 2 dental restriction procedures include:

o             Simple Fillings

o             Non-surgical extractions

o             Teeth cleaning using a hand scaler

o             Relief of pain from soft tissue lesions, eg: an ulcer or an abscess

o             Relief of jaw pain

o             Preventative treatment, eg:  fluoride application; fissure sealants

o             Xrays

The Grow up Smiling onsite Team have always maintained the highest levels of sterilization and infection control. Additional safety protocols have been established due to the COVID-19 restrictions and these include:

o             Non-invasive temperature testing

o             Health check for fever, dry cough, cold symptoms

o             Hospital grade hand sanitiser for patient and clinical use

o             PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)  upgrade to comply with COVID-19 requirements

o             Completion of the online Australian Government Department of Health COVID-19 training

The health, safety and wellbeing of our School Community and their clinical staff is the highest priority for The Grow up Smiling Team.

Entertainment Books

We didn't launch the Entertainment Book this year like we have other years with so many businesses and venues closed during this time but some have been asking for it due to the many other savings available.

The hard-copy Entertainment Book is no longer produced. They are now offering all memberships as Digital memberships.

You can click on this link https://www.entertainment.com.au/orderbooks/9x27109 to head to the Entertainment Book Fundraising Page and purchase your copy, or one as a gift.
