Hello CCK community,

We trust everyone enjoyed their yummy COON TOASTIE on Monday!

We’d like to start off with a huge shout out to Charbel who brought his fancy Coon Toastie Truck to school and helped our dedicated volunteers, Catrina Anderson and Geri Karla, assemble, butter, flip and serve 250 COON TOASTIES to a very hungry CCK community. We will let you know early next term how much profit was made from this event.

Thank you for your support and we know the funds will be put to great use throughout the school.

We are now ready to finish off Term 3 with a fun night at the Annual CCK Disco:

When - Thursday 19th September (second last day of term)

Time - 6:30-8pm

Location - CCK Community Hall

Once the children have entered the Community Hall they will not be permitted to leave until they are collected by their parent/s. There will be a number of adults (all with current Working with Children’s Checks) assigned to supervisory roles, so we ask all parents to drop their child/ren off and collect them at 8pm sharp.

As usual our sideshow alley will be in full swing with a range of treats, drinks, glow sticks and show bags available to purchase. We will also have some adults assigned to the kitchen area where all children can have water bottles refilled throughout the event.

This year we will be introducing a ‘Quiet Zone’ supervised by a small group of staff and other adults. This Quiet Zone will only be available for those children who find the constant lights, noise and excitement of the event a little too much. Or for those children who may be a little apprehensive about coming along to the disco and need this break out space to provide relief when needed.  It will NOT be a hang out area for large groups of children!

Children are not to bring mobile phones to the disco. If we need to contact parents we will do so via the school phones.

So to wrap it up,  the cost of the disco is $5 entry (payable at the door on the night) plus whatever you choose to spend at the sideshow alley.

All volunteers for the night have now been contacted via email. Can we please ask that those helping on the night come to the community hall at 5:30 pm to help with set up.

This is an event that’s a huge hit for all year groups and we can’t wait to see you there!

Thanks again for all your support and I hope you have a happy and safe school holidays
