Country Women’s Association Public Speaking Contest

This week we have 4 students representing Catherine McAuley in the CWA Public Speaking Contest held in Orange.

Congratulations to Charlotte Shepherd (Year 3), Rose Dellow (Year 4), Macklin Moon (Year 5) and Frankie Downey (Year 6) for representing their grade and our school at this competition. It takes a lot of courage to stand up and talk in front of a crowd and you should all be very proud of your efforts!

My favourite thing was:

“Listening to other people’s speeches” - Charlotte

“Making people laugh when I was presenting my speech” - Rose

“Having fun hearing other people’s speeches” - Macklin

“Having to chance to present my speech in front of other people” - Frankie

2023 Spelling Bee

Congratulations to Aavnaya Parajuli (Year 3), Meah Jithesh (Year 4), Dominic Gama (Year 5) and Brooke Vaughan (Year 6) for qualifying for the next round of the Diocesan Spelling Bee Competition in Wellington. What champions they are! These children represented our school beautifully on the day. There were some very tricky words and you all performed so well.

My favourite thing was:

“Competing against other people from other schools” - Aavnaya

“Learning some new words” - Meah

“Expanding my vocabulary” - Dominic

“Having fun competing against my friends” - Brooke
