Dear Parents and Carers,

We are over half way through this term - the year is flying by. This weekend students in Year 3 start to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Please keep these children in your prayers as they reach this milestone in their faith development.

Last Sunday was Pentecost Sunday. Pentecost was the occasion of the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles, as described in the Acts of the Apostles 2:1–31. As the disciples were fill with the gifts of the Spirit, this enabled them to go forth and proclaim the word.

Let us Pray,

         Come Holy Spirit,

Fill the Hearts of Your faithful,

        and kindle in them

        the fire of your love.

       Send forth your spirit

       and you shall renew

      the face of the earth.

      Amen.

Staff Development Days

A gentle reminder that Friday, 9th of June is a Pupil Free Day as all staff will be offsite on this day for faith formation.  Two other dates that will be Pupil Free Days as they are Staff Development Days are Friday 30th June and Monday 17th July.

Unexplained Absences from School.

There are a large number of student absences that have not been explained. If your child is absent from school, please put a note on COMPASS that explains this absence. It is vital that you do this. If you are unsure of how to do this, please ask at the office and our staff will assist you.

School Review

For the past two days the school has been involved in the final stages of the school review process. A panel of seven educators have been onsite, interviewing representatives of each stakeholder group to gather their perceptions about the journey the school has been on and ideas for future growth, development and direction. It has been a valuable process and I look forward to sharing the recommendations from the panel, which will help to inform our five year strategic plan.

Upcoming Parent-Teacher-Student Interviews

At the moment, teachers are busy writing semester reports on the learning your children have done during the last two terms. Reports will be available to parents on COMPASS on Friday 23rd June, from 3:30pm. Interviews will take place in Kenna Hall on Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th of June between 3:30pm and 7:20pm and will be 10 minutes in duration. Interviews will be booked on COMPASS. Interview bookings will open at noon on the 19th of June and close at 9 am on the 23rd of June. Please book in an interview time for you and your child to speak with the classroom teacher about your child's learning.

Sacred Heart Building

During the upcoming school holidays, some work will be done on the Sacred Heart Building. This should not impact on the vacation care program, however, I need you to be aware that there may be workmen on site for some of the days of the vacation.

Kind Regards,

Jo Flynn
