Assistant Principal's Report

Our Afterschool Sports program happened very early this term, as the gym was tied up with exams. It was great to see the students participate across the term in Cheerleading, Volleyball Club, Cooking Club and Soccer Club. I hope that all the students who participated in the program had a great time, stay tuned for the Term 3 program.

This program would not happen without the support of the community organisations who come out and run the programs. So, a massive thanks to Reclink, First Steps, Proactivity, Vanessa from VU and Angeline for coming out to run such a fantastic program for our students. We also have a number of staff who support the program, so a big THANKS, to Mr West, Ms Thompson, Ms Siragusano, Mr Barker, Mr Robinson and Mr Siranidis.

Our Year 7 students had the opportunity to attend a free excursion to try netball, “Train Like a Vixen” at Eagle stadium. The session was run by Netball Victoria Coaches.

The students participated in a 2-hour netball sessions where they developed their netball skills and finished off with a practice game.  A big thanks to Ms Bell who took the students out on this excursion. Attached to this newsletter is a flyer that is encouraging more players to take up netball in Wyndham, please pass on to anyone you think would be interested.

Our last engagement program for this term will see students across 7-12 participate in a free roller-skating session. I look forward to reporting back to you on this one in the next newsletter!

Lastly, I would like to remind you of the Community update in this newsletter, there are many opportunities for you to “Get Involved” next term through our Community Hub.
