Principal’s Message

Junior Deck Works

Work will shortly be beginning on a refurbishment of our Junior Deck and adjacent school entrance, a project that was identified as a maintenance priority by the Department of Education due to the deterioration of the current decking. The Victorian School Building Authority have appointed Spaces Design to manage the project. Spaces have completed the designs (which look great!) and have a team of builders ready to begin as soon as permits have been granted. The work is anticipated to be complete by the end of August and will incorporate new seating and natural shade, as well as leveling the area to remove steps and handrails.

Please note that this work will result in some changes to pickup and dropoff areas, which we will communicate when confirmed.

Staffing update - Assistant Principal Role & 6R

Now that the Principal role has been finalised, obviously the Assistant Principal role has now officially become vacant. A process has begun to appoint a new Assistant Principal, with the new role to commence shortly before the end of this this term.

Mr Roche will continue in his role as Acting Assistant Principal during this process, with Ms Zappia also continuing as teacher of 6R throughout this time. Our thanks to Mr Roche and Ms Zappia for their work in these roles, as well as to the students and families of 6R for your patience and understanding.

Staffing update - 3W

Our sincere best wishes to Ms Walker and her partner who are soon to welcome their first child to the world! All being well, Ms Walker will be beginning her maternity leave in mid-May. Experienced RMPS teacher Tristan Liao will be stepping in to 3W for the remainder of this term while we continue the search for a teacher for the remainder of 2023.

SunSmart

A reminder that although the official 'hats required' period is concluding today, sun protection is still strongly recommended on days of high UV until the next compulsory hats period returns in September.
