Junior School, Brooklyn Park

Friendship Day

In the final week of Term 1, we celebrated Friendship Day at Brooklyn Park!

Our inaugural Friendship Day was devoted to empowering children with friendship skills and creating a culture of kindness to continually build upon. Students split into groups made up of a mix of age groups from Foundation to Year 6. They then rotated through a range of fun games and activities, each with a focus on a new learning outcome. Activities ranged from Charades, Making Friend-o-meters, 'Friendship Ninja' headbands, Cooperation/team-building games, learning the Friendship song, drawing friendship experiences with chalk, and more!

Each student printed their hand on a huge canvas to represent their unity and remember all that they’ve learned through this fantastic day.

Friendship Day is a celebration of the friendship skills we have been building in our 'Friendology 101' lessons. This program by URSTRONG helps kids establish and maintain healthy relationships, manage conflict with kindness, and increase their overall resilience.

It was a wonderful event where the Junior school were able to celebrate their learning together.
