From the Classroom
Music
We have had an interesting term travelling around the world through music and dance. We have so far visited Africa, Europe and Asia. Grade 3s and 4s spent the last few weeks learning a traditional Korean Song and listened and responded to the more modern Korean K-Pop bands such as BTS. We even learned some dance moves such as the ‘penguin shuffle’ and the ‘running away move’. Next Term, our focus will be on refining a song from one country to perform.
Kitchen Garden
Last week the Grade 5/6s utilised the herbs from the veggie garden and the eggs from the chooks to make Toast Quiches. They have been learning to carefully following recipes and checking their knowledge of cup measurements to create tasty dishes. They have to work under time pressure and as a team. It has been rewarding to watch them connect with the seasonal garden and work together, both things that have important impacts on our mental and social wellbeing.
The Grade 1s and 2s have planted lettuce and peas which should be beginning to sprout once they return from the holidays.
