Principal's Message

Greetings Brigidine College parents and guardians,

We hope this newsletter finds you and your family in good health and high spirits. We would like to take this opportunity to update you on some exciting events and achievements happening within our school community.

We began Term 2 with a memorable ANZAC Day commemoration, where we honoured the sacrifices and bravery of our servicemen and women. During the ceremony, we presented Emily Grimmond from Year 11 with The Brigidine College Spirit of ANZAC Award, recognizing her exceptional display of mateship, endurance, courage, and sacrifice. Congratulations, Emily!

Our College Athletics Carnival was a fun-filled day, with students dressed up in their creative and colourful costumes to represent the theme of "Once Upon a Time." Regina Mundi emerged as the overall Athletic Carnival Champions, and Aquinas House won the Spirit Award. Congratulations to both teams for their remarkable performances.

We would like to give a special shoutout to Charlize Ashby from Year 12 for being recognized as a finalist in the Central & Northern Sydney Region in the 2023 NSW training Awards. This is an outstanding achievement, and we are incredibly proud of Charlize for her dedication and commitment to her Hospitality studies.

We also want to invite all mothers and grandmothers to join us for our upcoming Mother's Mass and Breakfast on Friday, 12 May. This will be a lovely celebration of the special bond between mothers and daughters. We encourage you to RSVP and send us a photo of yourself and your daughter to share in the joy of this wonderful relationship with our community. The link to RSVP can be found in our Events section of this Newsletter.

We are excited to announce our upcoming Sip, Snack & Socialise event for Year 8 and 9 parents and guardians. This event will be a fantastic opportunity to connect and get to know each other. We invite you to join us on Friday, 19 May from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. Please RSVP to let us know you're coming. The link to RSVP can be found in our Events section of this Newsletter.

In Week 4, on Tuesday 16 May at 6:00 pm, the College will host our Stage 6 Information Evening for students and parents in Year 10. This is an important event as it provides valuable information about the courses studied in Years 11 and 12. Our Heads of Department will be available from 5:00 pm to speak with you and answer any questions you may have. We highly encourage you to attend this informative and worthwhile evening.

We kindly request that you continue to support us in ensuring that your daughters comply with the uniform requirements. It is important that our students understand the value of presenting themselves in a neat and tidy manner, as it is a reflection of their respect for themselves and their community.

Please check out the latest edition of the Parent's Preview for important calendar dates and College information that you won't want to miss. This edition contains details about upcoming events and vital information about life at Brigidine College. We encourage you to take advantage of this valuable resource and stay informed about all the exciting things happening at our school.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our Brigidine community. We appreciate your commitment to your daughters' education and look forward to seeing you at these upcoming events.

God bless,

Sharyn Quirk
