Year 11 Biology

Students in Year 11 Biology have been working on developing their understanding of the structure and organisation of plant and animal systems with a focus on understanding the digestive, excretory & the endocrine system.

In science it is always important to put theory learnt into action, so as a class we undertook a laboratory session where we conducted dissections on rats to see the digestive system and sheep kidneys to study the excretory system.

Whilst a little anxious to begin with, all students undertook the task and found that it was much more interesting than they anticipated, even if it was a little smelly.

Students conducted their lab work excellently with all groups doing their own further investigations and most groups completing both dissections. Well done everyone!
