Principal's Update

Welcome to the final edition of King's News for Term 1. Watch the video below to hear an update from our Principal.

ANZAC Day Services

ANZAC Day is on 25th April and there will be two services held in Warrnambool this year:

Dawn Service

The Dawn Service will commence at 5:30am at the War Memorial on the corner of Liebig and Merri Street. This will be followed by the traditional gunfire breakfast at the RSL. If you haven’t been to a dawn service before, I would encourage you to come along.

Commemoration Service

Commencing at 11am, there will be a Commemoration Service preceded by a community march. King’s College will be participating in the march, and I encourage you to join us as part of the College community. The march will assemble at 10am (not 10:15am as previously advised) on the corner of Liebig and Timor Street. Students participating in the march must wear King’s College winter uniform. Several student leaders will be participating in formal parts of the Commemoration Service. We look forward to you joining us on the day.

Winter Uniform

With Term 2 commencing on 26th April, parents and students are reminded that winter uniform is to be worn. Full details of the winter uniform are available on the college website. The main points to be aware of are:

  • Senior School Boys are required to wear the College tie with the shirt tucked in.

  • All Senior School students are required to wear their blazer to and from School and to Assembly/Chapel.

  • The only external coat is the College jacket. No other coat or jacket is permitted to be worn to/from school or at school.

  • For Physical Education, the external garment is the Rugby Top, which can be worn over the College sports shirt.

Car Park Courtesy

Please be mindful of your speed on the College grounds. The speed limit is 10km per hour, including travel around the roundabout. At peak times, during morning drop off and pick up, please do not cue in the front carpark. At these times, traffic often flows out onto Balmoral Road, preventing cars and buses from entering. Upon entering the College grounds, if you notice a car waiting for a space in the front car park, please move to the car park opposite the Auditorium instead. Your cooperation in this matter will make access to the College easier for all.
