What is Harmony Week?

It is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism, and the successful integration of migrants into our community.

Australia is one of the most successful multicultural countries in the world and we should celebrate this and work to maintain it.

Harmony Week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.

Harmony Week is celebrated during the week (Monday to Sunday) that includes 21 March, which is the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

World Water Day

This World Water Day, 22nd March is about accelerating change to solve the water and sanitation crisis.

And because water affects us all, we need everyone to take action.  That means you!  You and your family, school and community can make a difference by changing the way you use, consume and manage water in your lives.

Sandhurst Switches Off

Friday 24th March 2023 St Kilian’s Primary School joins schools around the diocese in turning off lights for one hour!

In Sandhurst, we invite you to participate in Sandhurst Switches Off. All Catholic schools and Catholic Education Offices will be encouraged to turn off their lights and any other electronic devices for part of the day or a whole day. This action is symbolic of our commitment to the preservation of God’s fragile creation. It is also symbolic of our solidarity with those who are suffering due to climate change. Let us reimagine our partnership with all of creation.

School Swimming Carnival

Next Friday 31st March is the whole school Swimming Sports Carnival. All of the students in the school will get to participate in both swimming and novelty events that are at their level of swimming competency.

The focus for the carnival is about fun and participation, with all students earning valuable points for the house factions. Please be mindful that all students are required to wear a ‘rashie’ shirt, or something similar throughout the day to ensure protection from the sun. Mrs Vaughan has worked hard in recent weeks organising the carnival and we thank her for her efforts. If any parents are able to assist with the carnival, please contact Mrs Vaughan at school or at the pool on the day. We look forward to a fun and exciting event.
