MODEL MAKING IN VCD

By Jacinta Leed (Visual Communication & Design Co-Educator)

Students have enjoyed making models throughout this year in VCD. The Year 9 and 10s did a fantastic job last semester at designing and creating cardboard lamps. At the start of this term, the Year 11s designed a holiday cabin and made scaled models of their designs. Presently, the Year 9 and 10s are creating scale models of pop-up shops they have designed. From a bubble tea cafe, to a library and even a watermelon shop, each design is creative and unique. I can't wait to see the finished models!

JUNIOR ART

By Penny Stewart (Primary Art Coordinator)

At the beginning of Term 3 we completed work for Naidoc week in junior art.

Students looked at the work of Indigenous artist’s Barbara Bancroft and Lisa Kennedy. Year 1 read the story The Rainbow Serpent written and illustrated by Dick Roughsey and Year 3 read Wilam by Aunty Joy Murphy & Andrew Kelly.

Students in each level completed an artwork inspired by the Indigenous artists they studied.
