Captains Corner

Hello Glen Waverley Primary School Families,

We are the 2022 School Captains and we are here to inform you about the events that has occurred at our school.

The term zoomed by so fast! Term 3 of 2022 almost done already! Its been an amazing term with so much stuff happening! ICAS, Olympiad, Handball Competition, Prep Transition, VSSS and so much more. So much growth, learning and bonding has happened. Good luck for the school holidays!

An unforgettable day for the year six’s was Basketball Round Robin. We went to Nunawading basketball centre and spent the whole day playing matches. Our team was made up of 10 girls and 10 boys from year 6. There were 8 schools participating, including Pinewood, St Luke’s, The Knox School, Huntingtower, and more. We played 7 matches and each half was 7 minutes. In total, the girls’ team won 3, tied 2, and lost 2. The boys’ team won 2, tied 1, and lost 4. Thank you to our PE teachers for their contribution and making the 9th of September a great and enjoyable day.

Last Saturday 41 of our Year 3-6 children had the chance to participate in the Victorian State School Spectacular (VSSS). These students had to audition at the start of the year for either Mass dance or Mass choir. Throughout the year the students had multiple rehearsals and had to practice at home and school.

On Thursday the 8th and Friday the 9th of September the students had their full dress rehearsal at John Cain arena. Then on Saturday the 10th of September they had their shows. Thank you to all of the teachers who made the performance day so much fun and special.

Thank you for reading our newsletter piece and we hope you have a great holiday. We look forward to seeing everyone at the beginning of Term Four!
