Sports Update

Term 3

It has been a busy Term 3 for EVPS students with many sporting activities completed by our students. The term started with our Year 6 Boys Netball & Girls Football teams playing in a District Gala Day. Both teams performed well, with the girls losing their final game against Marymede College in tight contest.

In August our Athletics competed at the District Athletic Day at Meadowglen Athletic Track. Even though the weather was cold & wet, the students show excellent spirit and desire to complete their event, with many finishing top two in their race enabling them to qualify for the Division Athletic Day.

Our next event was our Year 5/6 District Basketball Tournament held at Craigieburn Basketball Stadium. EVPS entered four teams with students playing 5 mini games of Basketball throughout the day.

The last event for the term was the Division Athletics Carnival which was only for students who had qualified via the District Athletics Day. They completed against a variety of different schools from Epping, Bundoora, Mill Park, Mernda, Doreen and the Whittlesea area. There were a number of standout performances on the day with 14 students progressing to the Northern Metro Region (NMR) Athletics Day held in Term 4. Good luck!

The PE department would like to praise and thank all our students for their exceptional behaviour and effort. It was fantastic to see excellent teamwork and respect shown when representing our school at sporting events.

We would also like to thank the parents for assisting your child to help represent the school. It has been busy and exciting term for sporting events and we appreciate your help and understanding.

We are looking forward to Term 4 sporting events.
