  • “BE AN UPSTANDER” Posters made by year 3/4  shared with SRC. Each class will have a poster and discuss the message  
  • Ripple - Discussion with SRC. Students report they enjoy doing it - “allows me to check in with myself” “I can remind myself about what I need to focus on” 
  • Proposal for “Mini Fete” led by School Leaders and SRC for next term. 
  • Leaders will organise a meeting and plan out the proposal to be presented to Mr Rodrigues

Learning and events in our school this week:

Feast day of the Assumption of Mary today - class liturgy

SCIENCE WEEK - fun incursion! Thankyou Mrs Foley!

District Athletics for Year ⅚ on Wednesday - Thank you Mrs McLeary and for also organising the Swimming Program for the school at Yarra.

CONCERT preparations and rehearsals for each class item- costumes and props

Leads in concert learning their roles - costumes ready!Some classes are going on different excursions - Year 3/4 went to the Immigration Museum last week.

Learning in 1/2 - persuasive writing and giving my opinion 

We also read the book The perfect leaf - made some leaves and wrote about the story.

Learning in Prep - RT and CD using ipads with buddies learning how to log on/ using beebots and computers to play a game.

Learning in 5/6 - scratch  Information reports - study of words - etymology and morphology

Learning in 3/4 - Wellbeing posters - “How to be an Upstander “ - Scratch journals

We are having fun in multiplication and reading great books.

 

What can we improve on this week:

                       Actions
Sports equipment  The sports equipment is for everyone to enjoy and play with. If you borrow equipment then you are responsible for it and returning it at the first bell.
Table tennis area   The area around the table tennis table is for the playing of table tennis - please don’t run through that area and respect the students that are in that space.

 

SRC Representative ACTIONS for this week

School Leaders and SRC  will be looking out for students ‘Caught Being Good’.

They will  be nominating students who are responsible, respectful and ready to learn. 

Discuss what these qualities look like.

Respectful - listening, waiting turn, walking through corridor quietly, greeting/speaking to people politely

Responsible - throwing rubbish in the bin, picking up rubbish, returning sports equipment, helping others, kindness

Ready to Learn - listening to the speaker, having materials ready for learning, being on time in class or at school.
