This year's theme is:

'Dreaming with Eyes Open'.

We will begin Book Week with our annual Scholastic Book Fair which will be held in the library. Many thanks to Barbara Shaw for organising this. If you think you might be able to help with this please go and have a chat with Barb in the library, I know she will appreciate any help during the fair.

Some other exciting events across the week include a visit from author Andrew Plant.

You might know some of his books: 'The Little Dinosaur', 'Could a Tyrannosaurus Play Table Tennis?' or 'The Perfect Leaf' to name a few.

Our Book Week Parade will take place on Wednesday 24th August at 9am. Please start chatting with your children around the theme 'Dreaming with Eyes Open' as to what they might like to dress up as for the parade. Favourite book character costumes are also great for this 'dress up' event. All families are welcome to attend! (If you need any costume ideas please have a chat with your child's teacher)

Other events across the week include a visit to the 'Richmond Library', 'Surprise Reader', a special 'Art Activity' day related to the shortlisted books, and 'Voting' in the library for the students to vote for their favourite shortlisted Book Week book.

We will end the week with a performance from Meerkat Productions who will be performing an adaptation of the children's story 'Stellarphant' by James Foley followed by a whole school assembly on Friday 26th August.

Across the term, all students from Prep to Year 6 are being immersed in the rich literature and literacy activities from this year's shortlisted books. If you'd like more information about Book Week please come and have a chat with myself or your child's class teacher or visit the following links to access more information about the plans for the week.
