September Holidays - Unit 3 & 4 Practice Exams

Students and parents are reminded that a formal practice examination period will run from Monday 19th September to Thursday 22nd September 2022.  This falls in the first week of the Term 3 holidays and we will be proceeding with the timetable for Thursday 22nd despite it now being a public holiday.  All scored-VCE students are expected to attend the practice exams for the subjects that they are completing.

This practice examination period kick-starts students’ preparation heading into their final examinations.  It provides invaluable practice of completing an examination that covers the whole year’s work, under timed conditions in an examination environment – practice that has been lacking over the past couple of years.  Students will receive feedback on their performance and this will assist them with their future revision.

In keeping the examinations to one week, there will be students who will have three practice exams on one day and we encourage them to do their best under these circumstances.  There will be no ‘reschedule’ sessions for students who have three in one day or for students who cannot attend.  We advise students who cannot attend to speak to their teacher regarding how they can complete the practice exam via another arrangement.  There is a small number of students who have a clash on the practice exam timetable and they have been contacted to inform them of their individual arrangements.

All practice exams will be held in the C-wing.  The Senior Study Centre will be open for students to utilise throughout each day, should they need to stay at school.  The canteen will not be open.  School uniform is not required.

Attached is the document published in the previous newsletter that supports students to plan, and re plan, their study time. It is important that students set goals, review their effectiveness, reflect and plan forward.
