HPE covers a variety of topics particularly important to young adolescents: 

  • Transition and Relationships 
  • Health benefits of physical activity 
  • Safety (cyber, social media, SunSmart) 
  • Puberty 
  • Cultural Dance 
  • Minor Games
  • Athletics
  • Net and Wall Sports (Badminton and Volleyball) 
  • Fitness Testing 
  • Invasion Games (soccer, basketball, netball)
  • Striking and Fielding Sports (softball, cricket)

SPORT

Our school has a reputation as a high-performing, sport-oriented school where our teams compete in a broad range of competitions at local, regional and state level.

All year 07 students at Macleod will take part in a Sport lesson each week in addition to their regular Physical Education class.

 

In addition to sport and physical education lessons, all students also have the opportunity to participate in our inter-school, inter-house and co-curricular sport.

 

Inter-school sport

Macleod College competes in the local Banyule Division, governed by School Sport Victoria (SSV), Winners  of this division progress to regional (Northern Metro Region) and then to state championships.

 

We have separate teams for Years 07 and 08 and combined teams for Years 09 and 10 and Years 11 and 12.

Carnivals - Athletics and Swimming

All students are allocated to a house : Carter (gold), Ramsey (red), Shepherd (green) and Scarff (blue).

 

Inter-house carnivals are held each year in athletics and swimming. These carnivals are a great opportunity for students to participate competitively and for fun in a range of events, enjoy time with their peers, and are a great way to connect with the school.
