Parent Helper Courses

At Solway Primary School we believe in the positive educational outcomes that arise from a partnership between students, parents / carers and teachers. 

Parents and Carers can be involved in our school in many ways such as classroom helpers, assisting on excursions and incursions, helping with kitchen garden or PMP as well as being involved in whole school events or at one of our many sports events. 

Before volunteering at Solway Primary School you must attend the parent helpers course that runs for approximately 30 minutes. Please see below for course dates. Bookings are essential as sessions are limited, following our COVID Safe Plan. Please contact the office to book into a course.

         Thursday 11 March – 3:00pm

         Wednesday 17 March – 3:00pm

         Tuesday 23 March – 9:00am

In addition to this all volunteers are required to sign the Child Safe Code of Conduct and provide a current Working With Children Check (WWC). The WWC check is free to volunteers and applications can be made on line at:   

 https://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/

The school will keep a register of volunteers and their WWC card number.
