Middle Years Literacy and Numeracy Support (MYLNS)
Mornington secondary college is pleased to have the opportunity to be able to support identified students at year 8 and 10 with their numeracy through the MYLNS program. Miss Dobson has begun working with students in small groups to identify and support them at their point of need. We look forward to seeing these students achieve their learning goals.
Tutor Learning Initiative:
The tutor learning initiative is a government program aimed at supporting students whose learning progress has been impacted by Covid.
The curriculum team has worked hard to identify students and pair them with a tutor who has the skillset to best support them. Our tutors, known as academic mentors, have been involved in an extensive induction process, not only to navigate their way around the school but also planning how best to support their students using data.
Mentors have now begun working with students to set goals and support them in achieving them. Students are really engaging with this program, developing their skill and taking these back into the classroom.
