Year 8 Camp

Overall, camp was an amazing experience, we got the opportunity to step out of our comfort zones and try new things.

We took part in thrilling activities, including, stand up paddle boarding, surfing, and kayaking. The waves on the second day were perfect for surfing and we can all agree that was one of our favourites! We stayed at an incredible accommodation which kept us comfortable and calm for the nights we stayed.

Camp was a good escape from our usual routine of waking up early for school and everybody enjoyed meeting and spending time with new friends from our year level! A massive thank you to Mr Pirrie and the supporting staff for organizing this amazing experience, this couldn’t have been possible without you all. To say the least, this camp was phenomenal.

This week saw our Year 8 cohort embark on their first school camp as students at MSC; The Big Wave Complex in Phillip Island. Our students had a jam packed schedule participating in a number of activities over their 3 day stay. These activities included snorkelling, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, surfing, boogie boarding, beach games, mountain biking and group walks to San Remo and Cowes.

Down time was spent chilling in own private lounge areas filled with books, X-Box, movies, a ping-pong table and a balcony to enjoy. Some fierce UNO competitions also took place.  Night two was a trip to the Penguin Parade where we witnessed large congregations of penguins waddling up to their burrows, entertaining us with their unique antics.

A massive congratulations to our Year 8 students who conducted themselves in an exemplary fashion whilst representing our school at Phillip Island. Furthermore, a huge thank you to the staff who gave up their personal time to come along and make this camp happen.
