Middle Years Sub School News

Many of our Middle Years students have been enjoying the Stomp dance program. It has been great to see everyone getting up and having a dance and giving it a go. There has been break dancing and all sorts of dance moves.  Students return afterwards with lots of energy and huge smiles. This has been part of the Wakakirri program where students will be developing a performance which includes, dance, visual arts and performing arts to tell a story.

Noah, Room 14 and Ethan Room 14 were both doing a great job dancing along to the music at Stomp.

Students have been working on their social skills out in the playground. They have been making new friends and including old friends as well. Lots of PBS tickets have been given out at recess and lunch as students are showing how they can look after themselves, others and property. It’s great to see students playing games such as tag, basketball, imaginary games, Among Us and running races.

Vincent, Room 15 and Alicia, Room 17 have been having a great time chasing each other at playground times. It’s been fantastic seeing the smiles!.

The Kitchen Garden continues to look amazing. There have been pumpkins, eggplants, basil, parsley, spring onions and sage. Students have been grating carrots and making zucchini muffins this week. Last week the rooms sprouted radish plants in their rooms in the shape of their room numbers. Last time I checked, Room 15’s plants were over 10cm high.

Many students are looking forward to Jacanarama with some students out practising their walking on the oval. Joshua, Room 11,  has said he plans to double his laps this year. Way to go Josh! I can’t wait to come walk a lap or two with you on the day.
