The students in Room 3 have had a great start to 2021. We look forward to a year of learning and socialising. The students have had fun learning new skills such as sharing, turn taking, numbers and reading through games and the dramatisation of stories including “Five Little Ducks”. We have explored different letters, words and objects during cooking, gardening, and our funny fingers program.
This week as part of the Design Technology Program, students have been behind the camera! Here are some of their amazing photos!
Design Technology is a specialist program in which students are actively involved in their learning and are extending their creative thinking and ability to problem solve. Students learn safe and responsible use of technology for gathering information and communicating. It is about keeping information safe and secure, but also about being responsible with that information and being respectful of others online.
Students had so much fun and felt very important as they listened and followed instructions on how to use a camera correctly. It was a pleasure to observe our Design Technology Specialist Teacher, Cisy explain the complexities required, for example how to use the handgrip to hold the camera steady, look through the viewfinder adjust the lense and press the shutter.
Photography is a creative and exciting form of expression and another opportunity for our students to interact and communicate with others.
The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden is being tended by the students who are doing a wonderful job! As you can see the garden has a bumper crop - in particular the zucchini's are growing well and the students have been using these in cooking.
