As we enter into our third week of Lent I thought I would share the following inspiration from Pope Francis. It serves as a gentle reminder to us all about what we choose to “give up” for Lent. Traditionally, we tend to choose what we “give up” as something  related to activities, food, or things that we like and we eagerly look forward to reintroducing them into our lives at Easter. Instead, Pope Francis challenges us to view our fasting through a different lens, beyond the materialistic. He suggests we experience Lent through the gift of love and that we fast or “give up” those characteristics that separate us from the love of God or of others. I invite you to take a moment and think about what else you could give up this Lent?

This Sunday, March 7th, we will be hosting our first Youth Mass at the MCC Chapel. Year 10 students will be participating by reading and providing music for the mass. We warmly invite all Year 10 our students and their families, to support this mass. As our senior students do not have their own mass to host they are encouraged, with their families, to attend Youth Masses to support the junior students. A reminder that at the conclusion of the mass, we will have a group photo of all students and staff who attended - so I look forward to seeing many of you there!
