Dearest Marian Community,

What an amazing six weeks that we have had so far this term! The spirit of our great community is truly alive. Two weeks ago, I set the challenge to our community “Not to have more, but BE MORE”, and in true Marian spirit, you answered the challenge and absolutely smashed it out of the water.

Our College Project Compassion donations have reached an excess of $1200 and with additional donations still being counted. This is AMAZING! Most Homerooms within our College have jumped on board and are in the race to catch Homeroom 10.5, who have raised a total of $237 in the first two weeks of Project Compassion. I would also like to acknowledge Brody Vecchio and Prince Patel from 10.5 for their extremely generous and charitable donation they made at the beginning of week. I strongly believe that with fours weeks left of this College term.

Marian Catholic College can dig deep and create something special by giving more to those in need.

Harmony Day is fast approaching and the performances are starting to look and sound incredible. It is truly refreshing to see students and staff come together to celebrate our differences. Essentially, this is what makes our great country so unique and a wonderful place to live. In order to add to this celebration, we are on the hunt for students/staff who would like to be a flag bearer on the day. If this is something that interests you, please contact myself or Mrs Segrave as soon as you can. I would also like to add that if you wish to assist one of the stalls on the day, please let us know and we can allocate you to a staff that would appreciate your assistance.

The Community Action Team spoke of our College stewardship program today at assembly. Over the past few weeks, we have noticed a few items that are not recyclable items making their way into these bins. Please remember that these cages are NOT rubbish bins. Our maintenance men have provided many rubbish bins around our College for rubbish to go into. We understand that mistakes happen, but if we could work towards this as a College community, it would make the collection process much easier for our volunteer members.

Acceptable items are:

  • Water bottles
  • Milk bottles
  • Cans
  • Juice boxes

Marian, you have been sensational in bringing our College to life over the past few weeks. Remember to always show Compassion to another and always …

“Keep Moving Forward”
