Term 4 Interschool Challenge

Term 4 2020 Interschool sport challenge has arrived. And the best news is, its staff, parent and student inclusive!

This October, we're walking with Dromana College to raise funds for mental health research and would love you to join us! 1 in 5 people in Australia lives with mental illness. And more than 60% of people living with a mental illness won't seek help. But by taking part in One Foot Forward, we're helping fund vital support services for those who need them most, as well as life-changing research into prevention and treatment of mental illness.

We have decided to run a challenge between our local schools. This challenge is similar to the staff vs students walking/running/riding challenge where the most kilometres wins. This time however its most km’s win and at the same time we can raise awareness for mental health and raise some money. See attached instructions for info on how to join and the link is below. To log your activity (run, walk or ride) you can link your Strava/Fitbit apps or you can add the km’s in manually. No Cross country and no Athletics carnival this year made for a very average and boring year so hopefully this can spread some joy and be a good competition.

Funds raised so far $6548, what a fabulous achievement!

Cycling Academy

Dromana College cycling academy has had to find new and creative ways to make learning remotely fun and different whilst staying 5km around home.

We have been doing skill based activities, such as the ‘Treasure Hunt’, where we had to take a photo of ourselves in different locations.

Some of the challenges included near your local shop, over a built trail feature, beside a stop sign and even riding near an animal.

As Cycling coaches we would like the treasure hunt to be a way for everyone to participate and have a ride whilst searching for different objects.

You will see in the picture that we were tasked to take a photo of us going down  stairs.
